Priorities for Union Township

Union Township has always been a special place—a community with deep roots, natural beauty, and a strong sense of neighborly connection. As a lifelong resident and fifth-generation member of this township, Jim is committed to preserving what makes our town unique, while addressing today’s challenges with practical, thoughtful solutions.

If elected to the Township Committee, Jim will focus on the following priorities:

• Preserving Union Township’s Character & Limiting Over Development
  Jim will work to limit over development and maintain the rural charm and historic integrity that make Union Township so special. He will address this priority by leveraging his project management experience to coordinate discussions between the Planning Board, Board of Adjustments, and Township Committee. Working in unison, they will continue to identify environmentally and historically sensitive areas to keep them protected and off-limits to development.
• Improving Local Roads
  To spur the improvement of local roads, Jim will leverage his extensive construction experience to develop a fiscally sound, comprehensive plan for road maintenance and capital improvements.
• Addressing JCP&L’s Response to Power Outages
  Mayor DeGiralamo has done an exemplary job of working with JCP&L and keeping the community updated during power disruptions. Jim will fully support the mayor and aid in improving the township’s utility service. To that end, Jim endeavors to lobby JCP&L for upgrades and power infrastructure improvements that will proactively address and prevent service disruptions and ensure a reliable power grid for residents.
• Easing the Tax Burden on Residents
  As a former business owner and fiscal manager, Jim has experience and expertise in all areas of township construction. He understands the importance of financial responsibility and will seek creative, sustainable solutions to lower the tax burden, without compromising essential services.
• Responsive, Transparent Leadership
  Jim believes local government should be accessible and accountable. He will listen closely to residents’ concerns and work collaboratively to take positive, concrete actions that reflect the will of the community.
